Life Groups
The Vision:
Life change and transformation happens in the context of community. As a church grows larger it must grow smaller at the same time in order to make disciples. The Life Group is a small group Bible study that creates a small community within our larger congregation. These groups provide a place for discussion and application of what is being taught from God’s Word from the sermons and other areas of Bible Study. It helps connect the truth with real life. It also allows for people to serve each other and use their gifts.
The Schedule:
Fall 2010 Session 1 "Crazy Love" a sermon series tied to the best selling book by Francis Chan
Dates: Sept. 12th- November 14th Groups meeting Sunday, Monday, and Friday Evenings.
Winter and Spring 2011 "The Gospel of Luke" All Life Groups tied to our Sermon Series on Luke
Session 2 January 9th- March 6th
Session 3 March 20th- May 14th
During the winter and summer breaks from weekly groups each life group will be challenged to participate in community service/outreach projects and have a few fellowship events as well.
The Life Group:
The format of our Life Groups is sermon based. This keeps it simple, easy to follow, and relevant. Often groups will dig into passages that parallel the sermon topic or use other material that complements the series. The key to our groups is a desire to be missional not only do we study the word, we apply it, we spur one another on to live it, and we constantly seek to become missionaries right where God has placed us. Our goal is to grow closer by focusing outward on making disciples by reaching the lost.
